Jawan Jenkins brings to life Songs for Murdered Sisters, a song cycle for baritone written by Margaret Atwood and composed by Jake Heggie. The songs were created to raise awareness of gender-based violence.

David Del Tredici’s Dracula
Ginger Land-van Buuren is a powerhouse soprano, renowned for her electrifying vocal talent and magnetic stage presence. A graduate of Portland State University and Bel Canto Northwest, Ginger has captivated audiences across the country with her dazzling coloratura and dramatic interpretations. Lauded by The Oregonian for her spellbinding portrayal of the 'Queen of the Night' in The Magic Flute, Ginger’s performance left audiences “on the edge of their seats,” while the Willamette Week called her “the crowd vocal favorite," commanding every note with consummate control.
Ginger’s versatility shines through in her diverse repertoire, from bel canto masterpieces to avant-garde contemporary works. Her New York City debut with The Bronx Opera was praised by The New York Times for its elegance, and Opera News declared her a "live-wire" performer with a "sparky, high soprano." A regular with companies like Portland Opera, Palm Beach Opera, and Dicapo Opera Theater, she has brought to life iconic roles like Lucia di Lammermoor, Gilda, and Musetta, always delivering with power, precision, and passion.

Baritone and native of New York City, Jawan received his training early as a member of The Boys Choir of Harlem. With Houston Grand Opera’s Opera to Go he premiered three roles by Mary Carol Warwick. Recent premiered roles include Asku in Stomping Grounds with The Glimmerglass Festival, Mr. Delgado in Jake Heggie’s It’s A Wonderful Life, and Ricky Ian Gordon’s A Coffin in Egypt, both with Houston Grand Opera. Recent roles with the Butler Opera Center include; Ford in Falstaff, Tarquinius in The Rape of Lucretia, Papageno in Die Zauberflote, Marquis de la Force in Dialogues des Carmélites, Charlie in Three Decembers, and Vater in Hänsel und Gretel. As a 2018 and 2019 Young Artist with The Glimmerglass Festival, he was seen in West Side Story, Silent Night, ShowBoat, Porgy & Bess, Blue, and The Ghost of Versailles. During the 2021-2022 season, Jawan debuted with Vegas City Opera as Marcello in La Bohème and as Action in West Side Storywith Opera San Jose.
Jawan obtained his Bachelor’s from Prairie View A&M, Master’s and Doctorate of Musical Arts from The University of Texas at Austin under the tutelage of Mr. Donnie Ray Albert.
Soprano Marcie Ley has earned widespread acclaim for her powerful performances across the United States and Europe. Her repertoire includes notable roles such as Violetta (La Traviata), Contessa (Le Nozze di Figaro), Fiordiligi (Così fan Tutte), Antonia (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Mimi (La Bohème), Liú (Turandot), Marguérite (Faust), and Nedda (I Pagliacci). She has performed with regional opera companies throughout the U.S. and internationally at esteemed venues, including The Arena di Verona in Italy, Opéra National de Montpellier in France, and in Germany at Theater Dortmund, Oper Leipzig, and the Musiktheater im Revier.
Marcie is celebrating her 11th season with Vegas City Opera, where she serves as President of the Board and Director of Education & Outreach. This season, she will perform the role of Marquise de Merteuil in Conrad Susa's The Dangerous Liaisons, showcasing her dramatic depth and versatility. She also made history with the Nevada premiere of John Cage's Aria with Fontana Mix, a performance praised for its artistry and innovation as well as Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. Her work with the company has been transformative, both on stage and in the community. Among her standout performances are her “memorable and thrilling” portrayal of Magda Sorel in The Consul and her “brilliant and complex” interpretation of Elle in The Human Voice. Her commitment to education and outreach has made a lasting impact, fostering the next generation of opera enthusiasts and performers.
Marcie has been a finalist in prestigious competitions such as the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Loren Zachary Foundation, the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation, Palm Beach Opera Vocal Competition, and the MacAllister Awards. Her talent has been recognized with accolades, including Sarasota Opera’s Helen Dellera Jepson Award and the Shoshana Foundation’s Richard F. Gold Career Grant.
Known for her warm and supple voice paired with exceptional technique, Marcie continues to captivate audiences with her compelling artistry, innovative programming, and dedication to opera’s enduring legacy.
Kurt Sedlmeir, Lyric Baritone, currently resides in Las Vegas and is a graduate of UNLV's School of Music where he majored in vocal performance recieving his bachelor of music in 2019.
In addition to this, Kurt has studied Opera in both Austria and Munich, Germany. He has been featured in productions with UNLV Opera Theatre and Vegas City Opera. These roles include:

Keith Milkie graduated from the William Esper Conservatory for Acting in New York City in 2015. Since then he has appeared as a soloist at Zankel and Weill Halls at Carnegie Hall and performed with The Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice, The Regina Opera Company, The Italian Opera Company, The Long Island Opera Company, The West Side Opera Company, Vocal Productions NYC and Vegas city Opera. His was the voice of the Bruce Weber-produced Versace “Chicago is my Beat” video fashion campaign of 2016. Vocal performances have taken place in such far-flung locations as Milan, Salzberg and the Hunan Provence in China. Just before the pandemic, he performed all the classic 24 Italian Songs and Arias in a solo recital at St. Johns in the Village NYC. Staged roles have included Don Giovanni, Dr. Bartolo and Figaro from Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Valentine from Faust, Scruples from The Impresario, Commendatore, and Captian Macheath with Vegas City Opera’s 2022 production of Three Penny Opera. Future productions this season include Commendatore in Don Giovanni with Vegas City Opera.
Jeah Sheng is a musical theatre apprentice in high school who’s dedicated and passionate about being part of the Nevada artistic community. She has been performing on stage for 13 years, captivating audiences with her dynamic performances and captivating stage presence.
Jeah’s professional credits include a variety of gold awards/first place in international singing competitions, and leading roles in her school productions, such as Cady Heron from Mean Girls, who she received a nomination for the Jimmy Award for, and recently, Lonny from Rock of Ages.
In addition to her stage work, Jeah has also been involved in events held by communal organizations like the Nevada Chinese Association and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. She is determined to utilize her artistic skills and passion to advocate for her community and the ones in need, and continues to push the limits of performance both on and off the stage.
Jeah is thrilled to be working with the fabulous opera community for a great cause of fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and she is sincerely grateful for all the support and opportunity.
